Following an impressive rookie season, the Dallas Mavericks reportedly exercised their 2017-18 contract option on point guard Yogi Ferrell on Saturday.
When asked about Ferrell's long-term potential at the end of the season, Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle tempered expectations to some degree, according to Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News: "Time will tell.
With the departure of Williams leaving an opportunity open at point guard, the Mavs had a decision to make on Ferrell.
I'm just thrilled Josh Jackson is sitting next to me and is a member of the Phoenix Suns."
Phoenix Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said Friday the organization complied with NBA rules before it selected former Kansas swingman Josh Jackson with the No. 4 overall pick in Thursday's 2017 NBA draft.
Questions surfaced about the Suns' predraft tactics after Jackson canceled a scheduled workout with the Celtics at the last minute.
